In 2004 I built the first website for the Sri Ram Foundation’s orphanage in India. The orphanage was started by the silent yogi Baba Hari Dass who was featured in the original Ram Dass classic “Be Here Now.” The orphanage directors knew next to nothing about the internet. They needed an easy way to tell their story and generate donations without knowing how to code. That was a tall order at the time. I had what I thought was a novel idea - use a blogging platform to make a regular website. The idea caught on. That was my first WordPress website. I recently helped them with their 3rd website redesign and now they are running their own donations and sharing their story to an ever-expanding audience. My friend John and I continue to donate time when needed to this very worthy cause.
